Kunju is infatuated with cars and jeeps and trucks (especially the garbage truck aka വേസ്റ്റ് വണ്ടി ). We cannot count how many toy vehicles my കൊച്ചു മൊതലാളി has got.
What amazes us most is his ability to identify cars. Of course, he can't read now, but he can identify around 20 cars just by their shapes (or so I think). Amma showed him Nano the small car when he was small and could barely talk, and ever since he's been a big fan of Nano car. How many stories have we made in which Nano car is the hero!
The cars he identifies are:
ഈ വേസ്റ്റ് വണ്ടി വരുമ്പൊ ഉള്ള അവന്റെ ഒരു ആനന്ദം കാണേണ്ടതു തന്നെയാണ്. ആകെമൊത്തം ഒരു വെപ്രാളം ആണ്. He runs towards the window to catch a glimpse of the truck before it goes. He even told me once "കുഞ്ചൂന് വേസ്റ്റ് വണ്ടീല് കേറണം". He was OK with the standard reply that I gave him "കുഞ്ചു വല്യ കുട്ടനാവുമ്പൊ കേറാം ട്ടോ.." I'm just hoping that he'd have better judgement when he grows. Coming to think of it, let him go on a garbage truck if he wants to when he grows up, and understand how difficult the job is and how painfully people make life easier for us!
