1. Finally a teeny weeny tooth erupted this week. Lower Central Incisor. And surprise surprise, the upper lateral incisor also made its appearance two days later! If it grows slightly bigger, he will look like a little baby vampire! :)
Hell with the “Order of teeth eruption” chart that I was anxiously studying all this while.
2. The first thing he says when he gets up every day is ‘kaay’ for car, which means he wants to see the cars on the road. So Amma and mon sit on the window sill and see the cars (kaay) and buses (busss) and doggies (gagga) and appooppas (appooppa) and aunties (aanti) and kunji kili (kukki) and kaakka (kaakka) and taxis (taahi) and name everything that we see outside.
3. He can recognize the black and yellow taxis. He says taaahi taahi every single time he sees a taxi car.
4. He can also recognize Nano cars, and says Naaano when he sees one! :)
5. He calls his Muthassi, ‘Ittihi’..
Itttihi – so complicated to pronounce, Muthassi is so simple..! : /
6. He says ‘Apppoos’ if he needs to go to toilet for you-know-what, so we rush to the loo, and he sits on the toilet seat and finishes the job. However, he says ‘chuchu’ (for shooshoo) only after he’s peed. :P
7. Our maid Mangal calls him Guddu and asks him “Guddu, khana khaaya?” every day. So he has now started to ask her the same when she comes – “Guddooo.., kaayaa?” :)
He also says the same whenever we mention Mangal Aunty’s name..
8. He took the chool yday and told Amma and me ‘aaadu aadu’ and we kept wondering what on earth aadu is.. Then it struck me, he was trying to say jhaadu for chool.. One more contribution from Mangal Aunty.
9. He asks “Enthaadu…??” (entha + athu) if he sees something that he doesn’t know the name of. So I have to tell him complicated stuff like “thuni kazhukunna solution”, “paisa ittu vekkunna dabba” etc, and he repeats thuni, pa-sha, dabba etc.
10. He is still very people shy. Does not give shake hand or high five to anyone other than us 5. Might need to send him to a play group for more social interaction quite soon.
